Jonathan Mustard rated it liked it Jul 21, This book Dream Stuff has nine incredible, short stories. I thought it was just youthful dreeam, but no, I actually dislike his writing strongly.
In a parting moment, a young woman hired to “marry” vacationing soldiers, grasps the weight of the word “woe.
The reader can see why David Malouf is acclaimed and award winning. The small ones that seemed so big, For all the vital things I had to get and to reach. Sally does her job and then takes a break. Malouf cleverly uses the Australian way of unspoken-ness to evoke some of the big issues he wishes deram explore.
I really don’t like David Malouf.

Throughout the story shifts from person to person, from space to space, from time to time, just as a dream does. Lists with This Book. The stories are more about characterization than plot, and while drram fine, it wasn’t really what I was looking for.
I would give Malouf’s work another try – it sstuff me that he has opera librettos included on his resume – but I’m not sure that I’d reread this one. Thanks for telling us about the problem.
