My only real complaint isn’t so much about this book, as it is about the series. The Legend of Drizzt: No trivia or quizzes yet. An episodic story covering a total of years in Strahd’s life, this book has it all. This has to be one of the better vampire mythologies that I have read in a long time.

The way the story unfolds makes you really grasp the feeling of living in the era in which Strad was alive. While it looked like a decently-sized read, my edition had larger than normal font and whimsically cliche pictures, which I felt padded it into pages when it should have been around Without giving away anything that isn’t on the back cover, I just thought his feelings about Tatyana came out of the blue, and were uncharacteristic — required by the story rather than naturally evolving.

I admit my expectations were not very high when I started the book, so I think I avoided any major disappointments there.

At the risk of spoiling what happens, Strahd, using dark magic, turns into a vampire and just destroys these men that killed off the wedding party guests.
